iGoogle Documents and Assistive Technology

Now that you are finished with your group assignment on Assistive Technology I would like you to reflect on your experience.
  1. Do you find Google Docs easy to use?
  2. What are some advantages of using Google Docs?
  3. What are some disadvantages of using Google Docs?
  4. Did you have any specific problems using Google Docs?
  5. How could Google Docs be used in other classes?
  6. Do you think you'd use Google Docs to share things with friends?
  7. Any other comments regarding Google Doc's "Cloud Computing"?

    1.) Yes I did find google docs easy to use.
    2.) Some advatages of using google docs, is that you dont get all that junk that you do when you have an email. And you can have a conversation with some =one all on the same page
    3.) That you have to copy and paste what you have allready typed and then save it and share it again.
    4.) I had a problem with saving the document after I would add my sources onto the work cited page, so I just created a new one and added all the info on my work cited.
    5.) Other classes could use google docs to communicate to eachother and share ideas about what their learning.
    6.) No, because It would take too long for them to recieve it and then reply.

    1. Google Docs is very easy to use, however it could make use of a more streamlined interface for sharing documents between users, and allowing newly shared documents to be sorted automatically into a collection. Overall, had my groups members actually done the assignment, it would've allowed collaboration without the use of actual physical contact with my members.
    2.Google Docs allows me to edit my documents wherever I please, and it allows me to share my documents and collaborate with others if I have their email address.
    3. None.
    4. Copying and pasting from within Firefox 4 is only supported using keyboard shortcuts.
    5.Projects between different class hours, data collection, etc...
    6. Multiple friends perhaps, but not directly, I would route it through Facebook or Email first, as Google Docs isn't as widespread as other services.
    7. Cloud computing has a long way to go before it replaces client-side word processing. Microsoft is developing their own form of cloud-based office. It will be interesting to see how these two services compete.

    1. I think google docs are easy to use
    2. It is easy to shar and update documents
    3. That what your sharing also gets sent to the persons email

    5. To make projects with people from other classes easier

    In response to #3 Jessica, if you untick the "Send email notifications (recommended)" box while sharing, that won't happen.

    2. Advantages to using Google Docs is you can access it from any computer and share it easily.
    3. Some disadvantages to use google docs is only the people you share it with can see it.
    4. No I do not have any problems with google docs.
    5. Google docs could be used in other classes to share and edit work from many different computers.
    6. Yes I think you could use google docs to share with friends.
    7. No, I do not have anyother comments reguarding google docs.

    3.)Some disadvantges of using google docs, is that you have to keep on copy and pasting. Also that what you share goes to other peoples emails.
    4.)No, everything was easy and clear.
    5.)Google docs could be used in other class by like making projects and sharing them its easier that way.
    6.)I would use google docs for projects.

    1. some things were easier then other but its was bas to work with
    2. you can share with friend, family, other students
    3. it's not word so you can't like easly put headers and footers and you cant put dots for indents
    4. yes I did, I couldn't edit the indents
    5. Let's say your doing a health project with someone you can share the changes with out beign right next to the other person

    5. Google Docs. could be used in class when your doing a research project and you can comunicate with the people and your group.
    6. I would for projects, but not for direct communication because it'd be easyer to use a cellphone or Facebook.

    3. Some disadvantages are that all maessages you recieve are not organized.
    4.No, I did not have any problems.
    5. Teachers can use it to share homework with students.

    Yes, I find it very easy to use.
    What are some advantages of using Google Docs?
    You can open your documents from any computer and they save automatically. Others can also add on from any location.
    What are some disadvantages of using Google Docs?
    It's unfamiliar to most and there aren't as many options as Word.
    Did you have any specific problems using Google Docs?
    No, I found use easy.
    How could Google Docs be used in other classes?
    Any sort of group presentation in any class could utalize Google docs to share information.
    Do you think you'd use Google Docs to share things with friends?
    I might, it's easy, just not what I'm used to.
    Any other comments regarding Google Doc's "Cloud Computing"?
    Nope, I enjoy using it and I hope that I'll get in the routine of utalizing it more often

    4. The only problem i have had using Google Docs is looking for whats yours and whats someone elses work
    5. Other classes can use google docs for getting an assignment from a teacher.
    6. No, i dont think i would use this at home because i have a facebook.

    1. I found that google Docs was very easy to use.
    2. The advantages of using Google Docs is that you can share documents and comunicate with other people. Also let other people proof read your documents and they can make changes to them if nessicary.
    3. Some disadvantages of using google docs is that many peoples documents arnt organized.
    4. I personaly did not have any problems using google docs.
    5. I could use Google doc in other classes by putting a paper on google docs and share it with the people im working on the paper with in the class and the can edit it.
    6. I would definetly use google docs to share documents and papers with my friends
    7. I have no other questions about Cloud Computing.

    1. I find google docs is very easy to use, its easy to find.
    2. the advantages are you can easily share your docs with others and it is very easy to upload your docs and send them to people.
    3. The disadvantages or google docs is that sometimes it messes up and doesnt always upload on the first try.
    4.The only problem i had with this is that it diddnt always upload right away and took a couple of times but it did work eventually.
    5. you could use google docs for writing a report in English or any other subjects that you would write reports in.
    6. I probably would never use google docs for anything because I could just use facebook instead.

    Glad you found Google docs easy to use. You're right, the Word processor doesn't have as many features as Word but as time goes on it's sure to improve.
